Biographies

Debora Rappa
Debora also spent eight years studying dance with the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater.  And as the result of being a mother to four daughters, she has become an unofficial expert in prenatal and postpartum fitness. Debra believes that fitness begins at home, and has trained her children to become competitive athletes.

Matthew Hurd
Before joining Atlantis, Matt attained Master Trainer level at NYSC in Long Beach.  He is nationally certified through NASM and holds certifications in boxing, neuromuscular stretching and corrective exercise.  Matt also practices Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoys surfing.

Matt believes it is up to him to motivate his clients to work out, eat right and stick with it. 

 

 

Alana Levy
Alana has taken several workshops with YogaFit and  incorporates this knowledge into her training along with pilates.  She is also dedicated to helping adolescents overcome eating disorder--such as anorexia and bulimia.  Alana is nationally certified through NASM and also in Pre and Post Natal.  She is a corrective exercise specialist

After graduating Cum Laude from Hofstra University,  Alana decided to put her writing skills into action.  At this time, a major publisher is considering her book on the subject of adolescent eating disorders. 

 

 

Michael Sitzman 
Prior to joining Atlantis, he worked at the JCC in Oceanside and also taught introductory weight room classes for teens.
His natural enthusiasm is contagious and truly motivational. 

Mike is equally comfortable working with adults, teens and special populations.

Mona Barone
Mona has experience training a diverse clientele ranging in ages from 7-70. She is also a marathon runner and the mother of 3 children.  Whether a client is in need of a weight loss program or looking to excel at a particular sport, Mona can keep them motivated and get results.

 

 Martin Dusel
Marty’s career has taken him from the front desk to sales and then on to management. Despite his success on the business side, his true passion remains with one-on-one personal training. His experience includes sports specific, functional, special populations, teen and general conditioning. He also managed clubs for Bally’s, New York Sports Clubs, and Head to Toe fitness. 

Further, he is a sports enthusiast and plays competitive football on a Long Island Flag Football Team. As a result, he particularly enjoys training young athletes and helping them live up to their potential. Martin is an avid bike rider as well. Martin’s other certifications include AFAA Weight Room, Body Conditioning, Body Pump, Johnny G. Spinning and completion of the Town Sports International Foundations Program.

Marie Improte
Marie received her certification from the East Coast Instructor Training School (ECITS). She also enjoys participating in marathons and bike-a-thons. Marie's clients benefit from her natural enthusiasm as she guides them to meet their highest potential.
